FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you do custom artwork?

I am not currently accepting commissions.

I placed an order on an existing piece of art.  How long does it take before I receive my artwork?

Once I receive your order, and process it for shipping you will receive tracking information.  Please allow 3-5 days for processing time.  Shipping times vary depending upon carrier but typically take up to 5 business days for delivery once the shipment is received by the carrier.

What type of shipping do you use?

Shipping will be via USPS or UPS, insured for the value of the art and with signature required.

Do you ship to P.O. Boxes?

No.  I can ship to your home or office and someone is required to be present for delivery signature (artwork will NOT be authorized to be left without a signature).

Do you ship internationally?

Please use my contact page here and I will work with you on shipping internationally.  I will respond in less than 48 hours.

I am close to Charlotte/Surf City NC.  Do you deliver?

Yes, I will deliver your art to you within a 30 mile radius of Charlotte.  If you're 30 miles within the 28227 or 28445 zip code ranges, you will be able to choose the Local Delivery option at checkout.

Can I pick up artwork from you, locally from either Surf City NC or from Charlotte?

Yes.  Choose the Pick Up option at checkout and be sure to text me using the information provided in your confirmation to arrange a date and time for pickup.  Pickup is free.

Do you accept returns?

Please MEASURE and evaluate your space before purchasing art.  If you need support, use my contact form here

It's no light purchase to choose and receive art, so if the piece is not what you need for your space, you have five days from the carrier's delivery date to return the art.  You will be required to cover return shipping costs.

If for any reason the artwork does not pass inspection (dust, damage, excessive fingerprints from handling or dented or torn canvas edges, rips or other damage that make re-selling at full price difficult) a partial refund will be issued depending on the amount of damage.  If the item cannot be resold, no refund will be issued.  It is HIGHLY recommended that if you must return a piece, you insure it fully to avoid shipping damage.

Since I offer free shipping on most artwork, I will be unable to refund the initial shipping costs to you and if a refund is granted, it will be minus the initial shipping costs.  Shipping costs can be very high, so please make sure you've measured and evaluated the work in your space (colors, textures, etc) BEFORE ordering.

Artwork is unique and due to its handmade nature, some work includes very slight imperfections.  The product description will include details about any imperfections (if there are any).  Unless otherwise noted in the item's product description, any current imperfections on a piece of art do not affect the overall look and quality of the art and how it will appear in your space.

Do you offer custom framing?

Due to the cost of shipping, most artwork arrives unframed (unless otherwise noted in the product description).

I highly recommend supporting a local business to have your work mounted and/or framed.  Local shops tend to offer more personalized service at a much better cost.

Quite often larger stores like Michael's cost nearly double than a local shop.

How can I be certain the art I receive won't fade or develop discoloration over time?

On paper paintings, all paper used is an acid free heavyweight archival grade paper. A high quality wax varnish is used to seal the painting to protect against UV rays and fading.  All materials used are professional grade and acid free.

On canvas paintings, all canvases used are gallery quality.  Each painting is sealed with 3 coats of Golden Brand (high quality) varnish to protect against UV Rays and fading.

Is all art ready for hanging?

Not all work will be shipped ready to hang.  Check the product description for more details.

How is the art shipped?

Gallery Wrapped Canvas paintings are shipped on the canvas stretchers and come ready to hang (complete with hanging hardware).  Prints and paintings on paper are shipped flat (not in a roll).  Some smaller works include the frame.  Check the individual product description for complete details.

How do I know what kind of frame I need?

A local frame shop would provide expert guidance regarding framing.  I am also happy to help choose mat colors, frame colors and finishes depending on the room where you wish to display the art work.  In fact, I URGE you to ask me!  The right mat and frame can elevate any art.  The wrong mat and frame can make a great piece look terrible.

For FREE custom advice and recommendations, please forward your order to shani.mojica@gmail.com with "FRAMING" in the subject line OR in the notes section of your order, please let me know that you would like advice with framing and be sure to tell me how to best contact you.
